Odile Masquelier
Contact | Who is Odile Masquelier ? Odile Masquelier was born in Alsace, France, and spent her early childhood in Lyon. She studied in Paris, Cambridge and Madrid. Odile married in 1959, has three children and seven grandchildren. In 1966, chance enabled her to return to the house and garden where she spent her early childhood. In her own garden, Odile Masquelier grows about 830 varieties of roses and the collection has been turned into an Association for the protection and preservation of heritage and species roses in 1988. Her garden is featured in Mirabel Osler ‘Secret Gardens of France’, and Peter Beales book ‘Visions of Roses’. In 1994 the city of Lyon asked her to plant a Heritage French Roses garden overlooking the Old Lyon. In March 1995 she founded the non profit Association ‘Roses Anciennes en France’ and started to plan the 8th International Heritage Rose Conference which took place in Lyon on May 27-28-29 1999. International lecturer, Odile Masquelier gave talks in the USA, New-York, New-Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Australia, New-Zealand, Japan and Canada, Bermuda, England, Switzerland and Germany. In South America all the conferences are in Spanish or in English. Her book: La Bonne Maison, Un Jardin de Roses Anciennes, published at Ed. Flammarion (2001) is available on Amazon .fr They said:-
